How did it get to be May?  I think I missed April -- although with all the rain it still feels like April.

I am working hard on the third of my Novellas for Avon Impulse.  The first one, Kathryn, the Kitten: The Real Duchesses of Mayfair should be out the end of June 2011.  I am having a blast writing an homage to the Real Housewives.  I've never written about such a diverse group of women and I love the interplay between them.

And I can't wait for October when Isabella's book, What A Duke Wants will be out.  Who can resist a man who isn't sure he wants to be a duke?  Isabella sure can't.

Avon Authors Valentine’s Day Celebration

 

 

I was originally going to post my favorite chocolate cake recipe (too much work, but sooo good), but I seem to have loaned the cookbook to one of my daughter's friends so it will have to wait.  

 

Instead I've turned to my current favorite topic -- Weddings.  I attended a wedding recently where the bride glowed with such happiness and love that she lit up the room.  It sounds trite when I say say it, but I can't think of anything that suits Valentine's day more than that look of love and warmth.

 

I can't post my friend's wedding pictures so here are a few from my family (and my husband's).  My mother gave me bunch of family photo's as a holiday present and they've spurred my imagination on.

 

The top picture is my great-grandmother Lavinia, my namesake. 

Beside her are my father's parents.

 

  

 

                             

 

Above to the left are my mother's parents and next them my husband's mother.  I think she was one of the most perfect 50's brides I've ever seen.

My own parent's seem to be missing in action, but it was a full Navy wedding with crossed swords.

 

                          

                    

 

 

You can guess who the bottom bride is.  I wish I'd thought to have a train just so that I could swirl it around my feet for the photo.

Bits & Pieces:

First, thanks to everybody who sent me hints on getting over the flu.  I am feeling much better and am getting busy again on my next book.
